Every year, around this time, I start looking for a new planner.

And honestly, I don’t ask for much. I just want something that looks nice, is easy to use, and has the pages I actually need.

But after using (and buying 🙈) way too many planners over the years, I realised I was getting a little bored of all of them. There was always something missing. Some had beautiful weekly pages but no space for everything else. Some had a hundred sections I would never use. And some were so complicated that planning itself started feeling like a task.

So this year, I thought — why not just make my own?

And that is how The Year Ahead came to life. ✨

It is an undated, printable planner with 402 pages, made for planning not just your days, but pretty much everything else going on in your life too.

And because I had so much fun making it, I decided to make it completely free to download. 🤍

The idea: get 1% better

While making the planner, I kept coming back to the idea of kaizen.

Kaizen is a Japanese concept that basically means change for the better. The idea is simple: you don’t have to completely change your life overnight. You just have to keep making small improvements.

I really liked that.

Because big goals are exciting, but they can also get overwhelming very quickly. Small changes somehow feel much more doable.

So I built that idea into the planner.

Every month begins with one small improvement you want to focus on. Every week has a tiny “1% better” box. There is also an improvement log where you can write down something that isn’t working, what you want to change, and whether that little experiment actually helped.

Nothing too serious. Just small reminders to keep moving forward.

So… what’s inside?

I may have gone slightly overboard here. 😂
I started by making the pages I knew I wanted and somehow ended up making 402 pages.

There are sections for:

  • The year — roadmap, quarterly goals, goal progress, improvement log and Five Whys
  • Every month — month at a glance, priorities, calendar, five weekly spreads, habit tracker, budget and content calendar
  • Work & study — class notes, learning-to-action pages and meeting notes
  • Venture & projects — idea pages, one-page plans, launch plans, accounts and task lists
  • Content planning — post planner and ideas bank
  • Money matters — bills, savings, investments, wishlist and order tracking (all in ₹ because I could never find enough planners made for us!)
  • Health & wellness — fitness goals, workout planning and food diary
  • The kitchen — meal planner, grocery lists and recipe pages
  • Life & leisure — movies & shows, books and travel
  • Notes & lists — to-do lists, lined pages, dot pages and grids

Work. Money. Meals. Workouts. Content. Random ideas. Movies I want to watch. Trips I want to take. Things I want to buy. Projects I keep saying I’ll start someday.

All of it.

Every month, without the pressure of dates

Monthly planner pages including month at a glance, habit tracker and budget.

One thing I knew from the beginning was that I wanted the planner to be undated. Because there is nothing worse than missing two weeks in a dated planner and then looking at those empty pages judging you. 😭

With this one, you can start whenever you want.
Each month has the same basic structure, including five weekly spreads, so you can simply fill in the dates yourself.

Skipped a week? Fine. Started in October instead of January? Also fine.

Forgot about the planner for a month and suddenly remembered it exists? Just continue where you left off. 😂

The only dated pages are the two year-at-a-glance calendars for 2026 and 2027. Everything else is undated.

More than just a diary

Expense tracker, savings tracker, meal planner, workout plan and other planner pages.

This was probably my favourite part of making it.

I didn’t want another planner that was only about appointments and to-do lists. Our lives are so much more than that.

I wanted somewhere to plan my meals and workouts, keep track of money, write down an idea for a project, plan content, save a movie recommendation, make a travel list and still have my weekly to-do list in the same binder.

But that also doesn’t mean you need to use all 402 pages.

That is actually the point of making it printable. Pick what works for you.
If you only want the yearly pages, monthly planning and weekly spreads — print those.
If you are trying to get better with money, add the Money Matters section.
If you are studying, add the class and learning pages.
If you love cooking, add the Kitchen section.

Make your planner out of my planner. 🤍

How to use it

Three steps: download, print, plan, and the three sizes included.

It is very simple:

  1. Download your size — I have made it in A5, A4 and US Letter.
  2. Print it at 100% size. I would recommend printing one or two pages first just to check how the colours look on your printer.
  3. Punch the pages, put them into a binder or folder, and start planning.

If 402 pages sound terrifying, start with the year pages + one month.

You can always print more later.

Download The Year Ahead

You can download all three versions below:

The planner is completely free for personal use. Please don’t sell it, redistribute it or upload the files elsewhere. If you want to share it with someone, I would love it if you shared this blog post with them instead. 🤍

One tiny request before you go…

If you actually print it, please tell me which page you use first!

I spent way too much time making these pages, so knowing that someone somewhere is actually writing on them would make me ridiculously happy. 😂

And if you have a stationery-obsessed friend who spends an unreasonable amount of time looking at planners (I know I’m not the only one), send this to them or save it for later.

Also, if you like the little illustrations, colours and things I create, follow my art page on Instagram. 🎨✨ I’ll be sharing more of my art, designs and little things I make there.

Here’s to planning a little, doing a little, and getting 1% better at a time. 🤍
